Cogswell — Connected App Experience

We partnered with Cogswell on an exploratory design engagement to help articulate a vision for a smart hotel experience—one where the hotel itself operates as a connected system. The concept explores how building infrastructure, in-room equipment, onsite screens, and personal devices could work together to create a seamless, adaptive guest experience.

Rather than designing an end-to-end product, the work focused on bringing select, high-impact moments to life. These moments demonstrate how personalization could go beyond stated preferences to support individual health needs.

What We Built

  • Conceptual moments illustrating how building systems, equipment, onsite displays, and personal devices could be choreographed together

  • A mobile-first approach centered on guest input, accessibility, and personalization

  • A mock iOS onboarding experience to show how data could inform health-driven personalization, particularly around sleep

  • UI concepts across select digital and physical surfaces to demonstrate seamless transitions between environments

These moments were intentionally designed to highlight the connective tissue—the behind-the-scenes orchestration of data, technology, and design that makes a smart, personalized hotel experience possible.
